At least one person was killed after a collision involving a big rig and six other vehicles on Highway 58 near Edwards Air Force Base in Kern County on Friday evening, June 30, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol stated that the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. near California City Boulevard.
According to the report, an Amazon delivery truck and a tractor-trailer hauling vegetables were seen involved in the crash. This collision occurred just over an hour after another accident on Highway 58 near Keene.
Due to the severity of the incident, all lanes were blocked, causing significant traffic congestion that stretched for several miles.
The identities of the individuals involved in the collision and the cause of the crash remain undisclosed.
The investigation is ongoing.
