[07-01-2022] Butte County, CA - Two People Injured in Boat Crash in Sacramento RiverAccording to the Butte County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue (SAR) team, two people were injured in a boating accident in the Sacramento River on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The accident happened just before 9:00 a.m. near the border of Butte and Tehama counties.

Local authorities sent its jetboat to the Woodson Bridge boat launch in response to a Code 3 (lights and sirens) call. The helicopter from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

Officials reported that the two occupants of the disabled boat were found, one of whom had suffered serious injuries in the collision with a submerged log.

The injured patient was flown back to Woodson Bridge Launch Ramp while the broken-down boat was towed to shore. After that, the patient was moved into the waiting ambulance to be taken to Enloe Medical Center.

The second boat’s occupant was then driven back to the Woodson Bridge launch ramp with the assistance of SAR.
