According to Sgt. Erik Roy of the La Habra Police Department, the crash occurred at 10:30 p.m. in Rowland Heights, southeast of Los Angeles.

It was reported that the driver of the second car suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The chase began nearby La Habra when an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop for a possible drunk driver.

Roy said the driver initially appeared to yield before speeding off and leading police on a pursuit.

Neither the driver nor the passenger, who weren’t identified immediately, survived the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
