[07-01-2023] DUI Crash on Interstate 80, Three Seriously Injured as Vehicle Hit Sign and TreeThree individuals were severely injured when a vehicle collided with a sign and a tree in Yolo County on Saturday morning, July 1, 2023.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Interstate 80, east of Mace Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The CHP reports that a 2012 Hyundai was traveling on the interstate when it veered off the road, subsequently crashing into a sign before colliding with a tree.

All three vehicle occupants suffered major injuries and were transported to UC Davis Medical Center for medical treatment.

The CHP suspects that alcohol and/or drugs may have played a role in the occurrence of the accident.

The identities of the individuals involved in the collision remain undisclosed as the investigation is ongoing.
