According to the Pomona Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 10:00 p.m. along the northbound lanes of the 71 Freeway.

A 33-year-old drunk driver named Mark S. collided with a tow truck, causing it to crash into the center divider and collided with a family minivan.

An unidentified male adult died as a result, while at least four people were transported to a local hospital.

Shoemate was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. Further information on the victims’ conditions and other details on the fatal collision has yet to be released by the authorities.
