[07-02-2023] 2 People Injured After Truck Plunged Down Hillside in MontecitoA man and a woman were injured after their truck crashed down an embankment in Montecito, Santa Barbara County, on Sunday morning, July 2, 2023.

According to the Montecito Fire Protection District, the incident occurred on East Mountain Drive at Coyote Road just before 11:00 a.m.

The man drove his vehicle off his driveway for unknown reasons, plunging 150 feet down a hillside. Firefighters rescued them using a low-angle rope system, bringing both occupants back safely.

The driver and passenger sustained minor injuries in the plunge and were transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

No information was released regarding the identities of the man and woman.
