Pedestrian-involved collisions are all too common, and they frequently result in death. Victims of car-pedestrian collisions have no safety nets to fall back on.

According to a new report, pedestrian fatalities and injuries have risen sharply since 2007. Pedestrian accidents are leading to more deaths on the roads.

According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, pedestrian deaths rose by 27% between 2007 and 2016, despite a 14% decrease in traffic fatalities overall during the same period.

In 2017, 5,977 pedestrians were killed in the United States. According to the most recent statistics, around 88 people are killed in traffic accidents every minute.

In 2010, there were 137,000 non-fatal injuries caused by pedestrian accidents.

In comparison to other states, a recent study suggests that pedestrians in California face a higher risk of injury or death.

As many as 14,000 pedestrians were injured or killed across California last year, and nearly 800 were killed.
