A male pedestrian, identified as Christopher M., 49, was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle in Modesto on Monday evening, July 3, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. at Ellen Avenue.
The report said Morgan was crossing Ellen Avenue westerly when an SUV struck him, which had turned right onto the road from Chicago Avenue.
Morgan sustained significant injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center for treatment. The SUV driver, a 38-year-old man from Modesto, did not sustain any injuries.
The CHP has stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
