Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Santa Clarita that sent both vehicles down Sand Canyon Road on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
According to spokesperson Diez with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, around 11:05 p.m. over the side of Little Tujunga Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road, just north of the eastbound Santa Clarita Truck Trail.
The Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team has confirmed that both of the two people hurt in the collision were men. One of them required airlifting to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital due to a fractured femur. According to the SCV Search & Rescue Team, the other had minor wounds and was rescued by rope.
According to Diez, the car went off the side of the road about 200 feet.
According to witnesses, the driver and passenger of a silver Hyundai Sonata that had fallen 200 feet down an embankment were extricated from the car with serious injuries, one of which may have involved a partial amputation.
According to Diez, two people were taken to the hospital, one by airlift and one by ambulance.
According to the California Highway Patrol Incident Logs, a silver Volkswagen that had overturned was also discovered off Sand Canyon Road, but no one was taken to the hospital right away.
