Fatal Car Crash Statistics

Every year in California, a shocking number of people are killed in single-vehicle accidents.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, single-vehicle crashes account for 62% of all fatal car accidents in California. If you’re planning on driving in California, you should be aware of several things that could lead to an accident.

Single-vehicle accidents can be caused by a variety of factors. Driving too fast or making sharp turns on a slick road increases the risk of a runaway vehicle, which is also known as an off-the-road accident. It is possible to find debris on the road, like a large branch or an object that fell from the back of a truck.

The comprehensive coverage plan of your insurance policy will likely limit your recovery in the event of a single-car accident, even if it is caused by something other than your or another driver’s negligence.
