[07-10-2023] Multiple Injuries Reported as DUI Driver Rear-Ended Patrol Car in PetalumaThree individuals sustained injuries when a driver under the influence (DUI) collided with a vehicle, including a patrol car, in Petaluma on Monday morning, July 10, 2023

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Lakeville Highway just after 2:00 a.m.

The report said that the deputy was in the process of pulling over another vehicle when their patrol car was struck by a driver under the influence of alcohol.

The injured deputy was taken to the hospital and later discharged. Additionally, drivers in the other involved vehicles also suffered injuries.

Following an investigation, the CHP concluded that the driver who rear-ended the deputy was driving under the influence and subsequently arrested them.

The CHP is handling the ongoing investigation.
