According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on a freeway onramp to the San Diego Freeway at around 2:20 a.m.

A white vehicle was suspected to have struck the pedestrian. The details are still sketchy, pending an investigation.

The victim was found lying on the freeway onramp and was pronounced dead at the scene.
