[07-16-2023] Man & Woman Hospitalized After Boat Crashed into Rock Jetty in Seal BeachA man and a woman were hospitalized after their boat crashed into a rock jetty in Seal Beach on Sunday evening, July 16, 2023.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the incident occurred off the coast of Seal Beach near Ocean and Dolphin Avenues at around 9:30 p.m.

The man and woman awaited rescuers from OCFA, Long Beach Fire Department, and Marine Safety & Lifeguards to take them back to land after their boat crashed into a rock jetty. The two were able to exit the boat and onto the jetty wall.

In addition to various scrapes and abrasions, one of the victims reported difficulty breathing. The other complained of difficulty walking. They were both brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It was reported that the boat was fully submerged, approximately half a mile offshore.

No information was released regarding the identities of the two people or what caused the crash.
