According to Irvine Police Department, a driver, passenger, and a dog were killed in a fatal DUI two-car collision on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel, the collision happened at the Meadow Valley and Spring Valley intersection.
A Mini Cooper was engulfed in flames. Jack Varganagl, 20, of Irvine, was driving the other involved vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf.
According to OCFA, the driver, a passenger, and a dog were discovered dead inside the Mini Cooper.
Varganagl, on the other hand, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. He was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated, but the speed and drugged driving appear to have played a role.
