An unidentified woman died in a pedestrian accident in Downtown Bakersfield Tuesday morning, July 19, 2022.
The collision happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Truxtun Avenue.
According to the police, the woman was lying on the road with severe injuries. She took her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Sadly, she was pronounced dead.
A Hall Ambulance maintenance truck was involved.
The female driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and helped with the investigation.
According to officials, the investigation showed the pedestrian was going across the street without using a crosswalk.
The collision does not appear to have been caused by speed, alcohol, or drugs.
The inquiry is still ongoing.
