[07-20-2023] One Person Died, Five People Hospitalized Following Motorcycle and Van Collision Near WilliamsOne person died, and five people were hospitalized following a motorcycle and van collision near Williams late Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the fatal collision happened around 4:37 p.m. along Highway 20 near Schaad Road.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist riding a 2012 BMW motorcycle heading westbound collided with a Honda Van occupied by five people, including a 75-year-old woman, a 54-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman, a 14-year-old boy, and a 4-year-old girl.

The motorcyclist died while the five people in the van were transported to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries and the exact number of people involved are still unclear.

The authorities have not released further information about the fatal collision.
