Multi-Vehicle Collision Statistics

Congestion is a major problem on American roads, which experience some of the worst traffic in the world. There are about 280 million registered cars in the country, and 227.5 million people use them every day.

Every year, there are at least six million car accidents in the United States. Over 38,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents each year in the United States, making them the leading cause of death.

One example of this is collisions involving multiple vehicles. Any collision involving three or more vehicles is referred to as a “multi-vehicle collision.” A “chain-reaction crash” occurs when two cars collide and one of them strikes the other on the highway.

Each year, car accidents on American roads cause millions of injuries and tens of thousands of fatalities. Drunk driving, speeding, and distracted driving are common causes of these collisions.
