[07-21-2023] Contra Costa County, CA – One Sustained Severe Injuries, Two Others with Minor Injuries in a Three-Car Crash in Oakley

One male with a severe injury and two others with minor injuries were reported following a three-car crash in Oakley on Friday afternoon, July 21, 2023.

The ConFire and Oakley police responded to a call at 2:11 p.m. about a head-on crash on E. Cypress Road between Jersey Island Road and Bethel Island Road.

According to Oakley police’s preliminary investigation, a red Lexus IS250 driving east on Cypress Road hit a black pickup truck. It appears that the Lexus drifted into the oncoming lane when the collision happened.

A white Dodge Ram veered on the side of the road while traveling westbound, attempting to avoid both vehicles involved in the crash, causing another collision.

The driver of the Lexus was taken out of the car on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, while the drivers of the two pickup trucks were treated on the scene for minor injuries.

The authorities have yet to release further information about the crash.
