[07-22-2022] Ventura County, CA - Pedestrian Crash Resulting in Death of 46-Year-Old Woman in East VenturaAccording to the Ventura Police Department, a 46-year-old pedestrian woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in east Ventura Friday, July 22, 2022.

According to the Ventura Police Department, the crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. at Wells and Darling roads intersection.

The incident happened at the heavily trafficked intersection not far from where Wells, also known as Highway 118, crosses over Highway 126.

Witnesses informed police that the pedestrian had entered the path of northbound vehicles after crossing in the middle of the intersection, outside of the crosswalks.

According to the Ventura Police Department, the driver, a 23-year-old Piru man who displayed no signs of intoxication, remained at the scene and cooperated with the detectives.

Before the victim was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center, where she passed away, paramedics performed CPR on her. Her name wasn’t made public until her family had been informed.
