[07-26-2022] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Vista

According to the Vista Fire Department, a pedestrian man was seriously injured after a traffic crash involving a Toyota Prius in the city of Vista Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The collision occurred at about 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of East California and North Santa Fe Avenue in the city of Vista.

According to a Sheriffs’ spokesperson, the Prius was traveling on East California through the intersection of North Santa Fe on a green light when it struck a male pedestrian on a motorized scooter in the middle of the intersection.

The male was transported to Palomar Hospital by paramedics with serious injuries. The driver did not suffer any injuries.

The spokesperson said that the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

At this time, it is believed neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the collision, the spokesperson said.

The Vista Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
