SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH STATISTICS

Every year, an alarming number of people are killed in single-vehicle accidents in California.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), single-vehicle accidents account for 62 percent of all car accidents in California. When driving in California, there are several factors to consider that could lead to an accident.

A variety of factors can cause a single-vehicle accident. The risk of an off-road accident or a runaway vehicle on a slick road increases with speed and sharp turns. Debris on the road could include a large branch or something that fell from a truck’s bed.

In the event of a single-car accident, even if you or another driver were not negligent, the comprehensive coverage provision in your insurance policy would limit the amount you can recover.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY CAR ACCIDENT LAWYERS

While most people injured in car accidents cannot return to work or school, reckless driving is still a crime, even if it results in the death of another person. Victims of car accidents who died due to another driver’s carelessness may file a wrongful death lawsuit against that driver’s insurer.

Deposition and trial witnesses must testify in front of a large audience while reliving their past losses and sorrows. People’s mental health can suffer as a result of unresolved legal issues.

To hold a driver accountable for a car accident, immediate action is required. Accountability is critical when negligence results in a high death toll. Even though it can be exhausting, wrongful death lawsuits can benefit the families of those who have lost loved ones. This decision will have far-reaching consequences for California drivers.
