[07-31-2022] San Francisco County, CA - 70-Year-old Woman Attacked in Housing Complex at San FranciscoA 70-year-old woman was viciously assaulted by multiple attackers in broad daylight in San Francisco on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The attack occurred around 5:00 p.m. at a housing complex in San Francisco.

According to the victim, Mrs. Ren, four young people asked her the time and followed her.

Since she does not speak English and was unsure if the suspects understood her, she claims she said 5 o’clock and then went on to show them her watch.

The four people searched her body, and the victim quickly realized they were up to no good.

That’s when the suspects discovered Mrs. Ren had an iPhone 7, according to Mrs. Ren.

The suspects followed Mrs. Ren into the elevator when she refused to put down the phone, as seen in the video provided by the housing complex to SFPD for use in the investigation.

Mrs. Ren gestured with her hand to show that she attempted to close the elevator doors.

They pulled the 70-year-old victim down after showing signs of anger.

Mrs. Ren received a powerful kick to the face while already on the ground.

They repeatedly struck her head with their fists before pulling her to the ground and kicking her.

The suspects reappeared when Mrs. Ren tried to hide in the hallway but was unable to shut the door. The plan was to steal her keys and alternately attack the senior, not to take her watch or earrings.

According to the SFPD, the Community Engagement Division is assisting the family and providing them with resources to help them recover and heal.
