[08-04-2023] At Least Two People, Including One Child, Injured After DUI Driver Struck Several Cars in CovinaAt least two people, including a child, were injured after a DUI driver struck several cars in Covina on Friday morning, August 4, 2023.

The Covina Police Department responded to the accident on Cypress Street around 11:30 a.m.

A Nissan Armada collided with a car at Wingate Street and Grand Avenue, another at Banna Avenue and Cypress Street, and a third one at Cypress Street and Dodsworth Avenue.

The suspect struck several more cars after he ran a red light at Grand Avenue and Cypress Street. After hitting an empty, parked ambulance, the SUV crashed through a cinder block wall separating a business park from an alley before ending up close to a Cypress Street home.

The suspect did not sustain any injuries, but his 6-year-old daughter and a woman from one of the struck vehicles were hospitalized with unknown injuries. It was also reported that other people who sustained injuries did not end up in hospitals.

There is no disclosure of the names of the people involved yet. The suspect was being detained for $100,000 bail at the Covina jail.
