[08-04-2023] Monterey County, CA – Six People, Including Four Children, Injured After Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision in Salinas

Six people, including four children, were injured after a head-on collision involving two vehicles in Salinas on Friday afternoon, August 4, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol and Salinas Fire Department, the accident happened on Natividad and Rogge Road around 4:20 p.m.

The events leading to the crash are unknown, but an Acura and another car crashed into each other. There was an adult and four children inside the Acura. The other car’s occupant was only its driver.

Four people were extricated from the vehicle’s wreckage. Two children, including the youngest, were airlifted to Santa Clara. The other children were taken to a local hospital for treatment. There is no information about the extent of their injuries and current condition.

The two adult drivers from Salinas received minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Natividad Medical Center for medical care.

The children involved are between the ages of 7 and 14. No further information was provided regarding the identities of those involved.

While the investigation continues, authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
