[08-05-2022] Solano County, CA - Teen Dead, Another Injured After Police Chase Ends in Crash in VallejoAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old has died, and a 16-year-old was injured in a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Vallejo early Friday morning, August 5, 2022.

The crash occurred around 12:37 a.m. near Tuolumne Street and North Camino Alto.

Officers attempted to stop a red Chevrolet pickup truck that was moving at a high rate of speed, according to CHP.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was involved in a brief pursuit after failing to yield, according to the police.

When the pickup truck crashed, the chase came to an end.

The teen was ejected from the car after the crash because, according to the police, he was not wearing a seat belt. As a result of his wounds, he passed away.

The 16-year-old female passenger in the car suffered minor wounds.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
