[08-10-2022] San Diego County, CA – 34-year-old was Injured After a Two-Vehicle Collision on Coronado Avenue

A 34-year-old woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Coronado Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened around 5:16 p.m. in the eastbound lane of Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street.

The sheriff’s office reported that the deputy activated the patrol for a “priority emergency call while the deputy was driving.”

According to SDSO, the deputy entered the intersection after ensuring no opposing traffic.

The woman arrived at the intersection from the Interstate 5 off-ramp at that time. She is driving a white Ford Mustang coupe.

The Mustang was side-struck by the patrol car.

The driver, who reported experiencing back pain, was taken to a hospital for additional evaluation and care.

The collision did not cause any harm to the deputy.

Neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident.
