[08-10-2022] One Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Imperial BeachA 34-year-old woman was hurt in a two-vehicle collision with a San Diego Sheriff’s Department patrol car close to Imperial Beach on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

According to Sgt. Robert Posada, the collision occurred at 5:16 p.m. in the Palm City neighborhood of San Diego at Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street.

When the woman operating a white Ford Mustang coupe entered the intersection from an Interstate 5 off-ramp, a deputy assigned to Imperial Beach was traveling to an emergency call in a patrol car with its lights and siren activated.

The Ford Mustang’s passenger side was struck by the front bumper of the patrol car.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment after complaining of back pain. The collision did not cause any harm to the deputy.

Posada claims that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the collision.

The San Diego Police Department is still investigating the collision.
