[08-10-2022] Ventura County, CA- Pedestrian Killed after being Struck by Impaired Pick-up Driver on Highway 1According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ventura woman died from her injuries after a pick-up truck crashed onto the shoulder of Highway 1 near Solimar Beach and struck her on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

According to the CHP, on a Wednesday morning, Mary Jane Centeno, 68, was walking southbound on the righthand shoulder of Highway 1 between Solimar and Emma Wood Beaches in Ventura County when a pick-up truck drove onto the shoulder and struck her from behind.

The right front end of the truck collided with Centeno, who died at the scene from her injuries.

Any witnesses who were not interviewed on the day of the accident are asked to contact Officer D. Matthews at the CHP Ventura Office at 805-662-2640.
