Three people were killed, while six others were injured after a two-vehicle head-on collision in Copperopolis, Calaveras County, on Friday evening, August 11, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 4, west of Vista Point, around 7:00 p.m.
It was reported that a 2020 Honda collided head-on with a 2020 Lexus. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. DUI is not considered to be a contributing factor in the collision.
Three people in the Honda, one man and two women, died at the scene. Six others were injured. Among the injured were a two-year-old child with moderate injuries and a 72-year-old man and woman with major injuries.
No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.
