One person died, and five more were injured after a multi-vehicle collision near Point Mugu, Ventura County, late Friday afternoon, August 11, 2023.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the fatal collision happened around 4:40 p.m. along Pacific Coast Highway south of Las Posas Road.
A man driving a white 2022 BMW traveling southbound when he crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck a 2012 Ford truck. Subsequently, the truck crossed the other lane and hit a 2019 Honda passenger vehicle.
The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while three men in their 30s and two women in their 20s sustained minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
All of the injured were identified as Oxnard residents, while the identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed.
Both lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway were closed while the California Highway Patrol investigated the area.
