[08-13-2022] Alpine County, CA - Child Injured in a Bicycle Accident on Harbison Canyon RoadA child on a scooter was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Alpine on Saturday night, August 13, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision happened around 8:50 p.m. on Harbison Canyon Road near Shadow Hills Elementary.

The victim’s age has not been verified. However, CHP logs initially identified the child’s age as being 12.

According to CHP Sgt. Kevin Long, the victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital after sustaining mild injuries.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected to be the cause of the crash.

Harbison Road was closed for about 20 minutes while police cleared the area.
