[08-13-2022] Monterey County, CA - 48-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal DUI Crash on Highway 68An unidentified 48-year-old man was killed in a fatal crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Monterey County on Saturday night, August 13, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 6:10 p.m. on Highway 68 close to Spreckels Blvd.

According to investigators, a black 2022 BMW 330i entered the oncoming traffic lane from the two-way left turn lane and collided with a 2017 Toyota Camry.

The Camry’s driver was fatally injured and passed away on the spot.

The BMW’s driver, Daniel W., 40, of Marina, who suffered only minor wounds, was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
