[08-13-2022] 25-year-old Woman Dead in Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Involving Big Rig on Highway 299According to the California Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old woman from Montgomery Creek died in a crash on Highway 299 near the Fall River Mills community on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

According to the CHP, the collision occurred around 5:00 a.m. west of Pit No. 1 Powerhouse Road on Highway 299.

A 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a woman crossed double yellow lines on Highway 299 and struck a big rig.

Alcohol appears to have played no part in the collision, according to the CHP. According to the report, the woman was not buckled up during the collision.

The two drivers of the big rig were unharmed. The highway remained open while police looked into the collision.
