[08-14-2022] Nevada County, CA - 7-Year-Old Grass Valley Child Suffered Major Injuries in Motorcycle Crash in NevadaAccording to the authorities, a dirt bike crash left a 7-year-old with major head injuries sending him to the hospital south of Retrac Way Sunday, August 14, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Wolf Drive, just south of Retrac Way in unincorporated Nevada County.

According to the report, a 38-year-old man was allegedly operating a 1994 Suzuki dirt bike while his 7-year-old son was seated in front of him and holding onto the handlebars.

The dirt bike left the path and collided with a tree. The father and his son were both thrown off the dirt bike.

The 7-year-old was airlifted with severe head injuries to UC Davis Medical Center. Although the father allegedly declined transport, he was also only slightly injured.

The CHP reports that neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have played a role in the collision, which is still under investigation.
