[08-14-2023] Kern County, CA – One Person Died After Collision Between Two Vehicles in Shafter

One person was killed after a collision between two vehicles in Shafter on Monday afternoon, August 14, 2023.

According to the Shafter Police Department, the incident occurred at East Lerdo Highway and Driver Road intersection shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The report indicates that, tragically, one person lost their life in the accident involving two vehicles. Moreover, due to the collision, one of the vehicles became engulfed in flames.

The identity of the deceased victim has not yet been disclosed.

Authorities from the Shafter police have announced the closure of East Lerdo Highway between Cherry Avenue and Vultee Road due to the incident. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area.
