[08-17-2023] Marin County, CA – Pedestrian Injured Following Hit-and-Run Collision in Marshall

A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run collision in Marshall, Marin County, on Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on State Route 1 in front of Tony’s Seafood at around 3:30 p.m.

A blue or dark-colored GMC Sierra pickup truck, towing a utility trailer loaded with a riding lawn mower, was observed traveling southbound on SR-1 in front of Tony’s Seafood. Behind the utility trailer, a chain was being dragged.

The GMC passed by the victim as he stood on the right shoulder of the roadway. The chain attached to the utility trailer struck the victim, causing him to fall. There has been no trace of the driver as he continued south on Highway 1.

After being airlifted to a local hospital, the victim is expected to recover from suspected severe injuries.

As the investigation continues, no details regarding the victim’s identity have been released.
