The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the 6200 block of Avalon Boulevard in the Florence neighborhood of Los Angeles.

When officers arrived, they located the victim dead at the scene.

According to Detective Jerry Gibson of the LAPD Central Bureau Homicide, who was present and interviewed at the scene, there was an underground party on 62nd Street.

Partygoers and the suspect got into a fight. The suspect purposefully ran one of the partygoers over during that argument before fleeing the scene.

Although the victim has not been named, Gibson thinks he is a teenager or young adult.

According to Gibson, his identity will be disclosed once his family has been notified.

The number of partygoers who saw the incident is unknown. There were a lot of people at the party, according to Gibson.

According to Gibson, the victim’s traffic accident is thought to have involved a white car at the scene.

The make and model of a second vehicle, which is rumored to have been a Maserati, have not yet been established.

Gibson claimed that the suspects repeatedly drove up and down the street in an effort to strike partygoers.

The white car’s driver fled the scene after it was discovered there. The second car is being sought after by detectives.

Gibson claims that there was no shooting involved and that nothing indicates that this is currently a gang-related incident.

According to Slat Security, a fight broke out in a parking lot, who then played CC video footage of the incident.

A Maserati struck the victim during the fight before driving away.

At this time, the suspects, who were described as two Hispanics, are still at large. According to the CC footage displayed, the victim was struck by the car multiple times.

The LAPD had already evacuated the area while conducting a homicide investigation.

Pedestrian and Crosswalk Laws in Southern California

Multiple laws have been passed in California to ensure the safety of pedestrians. Some of these regulations indicate where pedestrians can and cannot walk in order to avoid obstructing traffic. Drivers “shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any marked crosswalk at an intersection,” as stated in California Vehicle Code 21960. This seems like a pretty easy step. Additional language in the law, however, may be unclear to some.
