[08-21-2022] Madera County, CA – One Person Killed in Early Morning Hit-And-Run Collision in Madera

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers are searching for the people involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed one person in Madera Sunday morning, August 21, 2022.

According to the CHP, the deadly collision occurred at 1:45 a.m. on Highway 99 and Avenue 16.

When the police arrived, they saw a white car and an empty blue van.

One man was found dead at the scene after the area was searched.

Investigators think that the white car hit the van from behind, which caused the van to flip over and hit a pole.

A witness says that after the crash, they saw several people run away from the scene.
