[08-21-2022] Yuba County, CA - Two People Killed in Fatal Train Crash Near Highway 65The California Highway Patrol reported that two people died in a fatal crash after trying to cross in front of an approaching train in Yuba County on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The crash occurred around 1:00 p.m., close to Highway 65 at Dairy Road.

A Black Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on a private road close to Highway 65.

According to CHP, the pickup truck attempted to cross an uncontrolled railroad crossing directly in front of a train.

The train struck the pickup truck’s right side after it allegedly sounded its horn ineffectively. The pickup truck’s driver and passenger both passed away.

The coroner’s office has not yet disclosed the identities of the two men, but according to the authorities, one of them was a 39-year-old Sacramento man, and the other was an unidentified man.

The crash remains under investigation.
