A 59-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a van in Merced Monday night, August 22, 2022.
At around 4:30 pm, a collision occurred at M and 25th.
Local authorities took the rider to the hospital, where he later passed away.
Authorities are still investigating what caused the collision, but they have noted that traffic had just started moving again after stopping for a nearby train.
The rider has not been identified, and it is not believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
