[08-22-2024] Monterey County, CA – 23-Year-Old Woman Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on Nashua Road

A 23-year-old woman from Gilroy was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Nashua Road in Monterey County on Thursday morning, August 22, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. when a tan Chevy Suburban, traveling west with two occupants inside, struck the woman as she was crossing the road.

Authorities stated that DUI is not suspected in the crash. The driver of the Suburban pulled over immediately and has been cooperating with the investigation.

The identity of the deceased woman will be released by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office once her next of kin has been notified.
