[08-23-2022] DUI Crash Injured Multiple Persons on Highway 101According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a drunk driver struck a minivan carrying a family of five while traveling south on Highway 101 in Mendocino County on Wednesday, August 23, 2022.

The mother, the 15-year-old girl, and the other car’s driver all sustained serious wounds.

The DUI driver turned out to be Tyson Y., a 41-year-old former State Park Ranger who was photographed dozing off in his patrol car while it was still running and in gear.

Young has worked for Caltrans since losing his job to a DUI conviction in 2014.

The Mendocino County District Attorney has been notified, and the CHP informed Dan Noyes of the I-Team.

The DA also informed us that he was considering charging Young with a felony.
