A fiery vehicle crash involving three big rigs resulted in the temporary closure of the northbound I-15 freeway on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
The collision occurred at 12:33 p.m., north of Highway 138.
One UPS truck had substantial damage, and people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
The UPS semi’s trailer stayed on its wheels, but the cab detached from the truck. Before emergency responders came, a good Samaritan stopped and climbed into the cab to check on the driver.
According to California Highway Patrol, a truck collided with a silver Toyota 4Runner, and the reporting party stopped one mile ahead of the collision.
Lanes 1, 2, 3, and 4 would be closed. Traffic on the freeway had to utilize the #5 lane and the right shoulder until the collision was cleared.
A Sig Alert was issued at 12:52 p.m. and continued for at least two hours. Heavy tow trucks have already been dispatched to the scene.
The investigation is still on going.
