[08-24-2024] Ventura County, CA – 45-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Struck by Car on Highway 126 in Fillmore

A 45-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car while crossing Highway 126 east of Fillmore late Saturday night, August 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:53 p.m. near the fish hatchery.

The man, identified as Dario M., was crossing the highway northbound when he was struck by a westbound Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 37-year-old woman from Santa Clarita.

The man died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The CHP stated that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision, and the vehicle was traveling at approximately 50 mph.
