[08-25-2022] 56-Year-Old Man Chasing After Dog Injured in Pedestrian Crash in Point Loma HeightsAccording to the police, a Jeep struck a man and his dog after the canine escaped its leash on a San Diego street early on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

According to a press release from the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at around 6:45 a.m. in the middle of Poe Street near Nimitz Boulevard in Point Loma Heights.

The 56-year-old man was attempting to reclaim his dog in Point Loma Heights when they were both struck by a woman driving a Jeep down the road.

The police described the man’s injuries as serious but not life-threatening. The paramedics hurried him to the hospital. The dog was taken to a vet’s office, but nobody knew more about the injuries the animal may have sustained.

The woman stopped and remained nearby, chatting with the police.

Local authorities said that traffic detectives will continue to look into the collision.
