[08-26-2022] Fresno County, CA – Big Rig Involved in Multi-Vehicle Collision Southwest of Fresno

A big rig Foster Farms truck hauling chickens overturned before crashing into other vehicles just outside southwest Fresno on Friday, August 26, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash transpired around 5:30 a.m. on the northeast corner of Jensen and Cornelia avenues.

After crashing through a fence around the Pacific Gas and Electric towers and spilling chickens, the truck stopped.

Officer Mike Salas said about 100 chickens died, and two other cars were also involved.

Salas said a driver going south pulled in front of the truck and another car before the crash. The truck driver went west on Jensen without stopping at a stop sign.

CHP said that the big rig driver had minor injuries, and the other drivers were not hurt.

The reason for the crash is still being looked into.
