[08-26-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Unidentified Woman Struck and Killed by Freight Train in Palmdale Area

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a person was struck and killed by a Union Pacific freight train in Palmdale Friday, August 26, 2022.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal crash occurred at about 5:00 a.m. in the 38800 block of Clocktower Plaza Drive.

According to Metrolink, passenger rail service was affected, and the tracks were closed between Palmdale and Lancaster due to a UPRR freight train striking a person on the tracks.

The victim was a woman who was fatally injured, according to a witness. Her name was not immediately available for release.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
