[08-26-2022] Monterey County, CA – Four People Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on Blanco Road

Four people were killed after a moving truck collided with a power pole near Marina on Friday, August 26, 2022.

The collision occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Blanco Road close to Reservation Road and Research Drive.

Unknown factors caused the truck heading east on Research Road to veer off course and strike the power pole.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the four victims died when the car caught fire after hitting the pole.

The CHP informed KION that a fourth death had occurred around 4:30 p.m.

CHP-Monterey is still investigating the crash.
