[08-26-2022] San Diego County, CA - Head-on Collision with Suspect DUI Driver on State Route 52 Results in the Death of a 49-year-old ManA 49-year-old man was killed after a head-on collision involving a suspected DUI driver on westbound state Route 52 on Friday morning, August 26, 2022.

The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. on westbound SR-52 east of Interstate 805.

According to the CHP spokesperson, Jess M., a 23-year-old woman, drove the black truck the wrong way and was thought to have been under the influence.

The truck collided, mangled, and caused the death of the 49-year-old man.

The man’s identity is yet unknown.

According to Matias, the driver suffered minor injuries and was detained on suspicion of DUI.
