[08-27-2022] One Man Killed, Woman Injured in Fatal DUI Crash on Interstate 5The California Highway Patrol reported that a driver was killed and a female passenger left injured in a fatal DUI accident on Interstate 5 on Saturday night, August 27, 2022.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. on northbound I-5, just north of Lebec Service Road.

According to CHP, a man was pronounced dead at the scene after officers discovered a 2004 Toyota Solara overturned on its right shoulder, and a woman passenger was hurt.

Later, authorities identified the victim of the collision as 20-year-old Bakersfield resident Tony C. III.

The CHP stated that the driver, Deleah J., 18, of Bakersfield, was taken to Kern Medical and detained on suspicion of felony DUI; further charges are pending.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
